My notion of the smell of Spring is the fresh smell of snowdrops and the warm hay smell of the lambing shed, Hearing it is all around! Have you noticed that the small birds sound different at this time of year? Happy to be making nests and rearing a new batch of young 'uns!
I actually get a wee rest at this time of year! Not so many knitting commissions to do so I don't have time limits and deadlines! I often have a feeling of panic when I'm not finished and the client has set a specific date for the arrival of their purchase - that's when I wish I had spent my time knitting instead of going out for a long walk or just relaxing, feet up sipping coffee (or wine!) and generally chilling out!
My last commission was a big un and have just posted it off this afternoon! A pure Aran, full length coat...picture below....and it's now on my Etsy shop as a Made to Order! https://www.etsy.com/shop/ScottishKnitwear?ref=hdr_shop_menu
This took me 140 hours to knit but it was worth it when I saw the finished result!
Wooden buttons at the client's request and two pockets for putting "stuff" in!
I sold a really pretty baby blanket, also on my Etsy shop last week - photo for your perusal!!
This was sent all the way to Newport, Rhode Island in the USA!
My next project involves something I haven't used for many, many years - Chunky Wool!
I only started the item yesterday, but here is a wee preview!
Now, getting away from woolly subjects, have you noticed I have a new name??? A new layout????
As I am no genius with a computer, a lovely lady, Jane Galley of
very kindly spent her Sunday sorting my blog page and pointing me in the right direction!!
Now, time to get out and about into the spring sunshine and try not to think about knitting, cooking and just enjoy me day with hubby and the dog! Speak to you all next month! Take care!
